This unit, the smallest 9,000 BTU unit on the market, is available in right, left or top discharge (Left and Top Discharge, add 1" in length).

We use 4" and 6" ducting and recommend a minimum of 3, 4" round supply grills with this installation. The M9 is almost the same size as the M6 unit. In order to keep the smallest footprint on the market, we utilized the same stainless steel base as the Model M6 - 6500BTU.

Running amperage: Cool = 7 amps, R/C = 8 amps. Add approximately one amp for the standard seawater pumps. Start up amperage is calculated by running amperage multiplied by 1.8.

On average, This unit is designed to cool cruisers up to 30' and sailboats up to 32'.

Includes a programmable digital thermostat.

A complete standard installation kit including Footscoop, seacock, water strainer, dual ducting kit, and electrical connection kit is available as an additional option. A deluxe installation kit is also available.

All units are available in 220v for an additional $100.00, and require a 72 hour lead time. Please call us if you need the 220v model.

A sea water pump is required for each Mermaid Marine Air Conditioner, but is sold separately, depending upon the application. When it comes to marine air conditioning, selecting the most appropriate pump can be as important as selecting the most appropriate air conditioning unit for your boat.

To determine the best pump for your application take the gallons per hour of the pump as the original reference point. For example, the March LC-2CMD pump is a 300 gallons per hour pump at a one foot vertical lift and the March LC-3CMD pump is a 510 gallons per hour pump at a one foot vertical lift.

Each air conditioner requires a minimum of 250 gallons per hour to go through the heat exchanger (water coil) of the unit for optimal heat transfer (4.16 gallons/minute). In each air conditioner installation there is certain to be some vertical lift and horizontal length of hose. Use the calculation that every 10 feet of horizontal hose is equivalent to a one foot vertical lift. Using the lift chart below, ensure that you have the minimum requirement at the air conditioner.
